About ECUs

Inputs & Outputs O12

MoTeC's range of ECUs can be categorised into two distinct generations: the later generation or 'hundred series' ECUs including the M400, M600, M800 and M880, and the earlier generation based on the M4 and M48.

M400, M600, M800, M880

These later generation ECUs are collectively known as the MoTeC 'hundred series' and are characterised by their ability to control late model vehicles with drive by wire throttle systems and continuously variable camshaft timing, alongside many other advanced functions. They use Windows-based ECU Manager software and benefit from ongoing software and firmware updates.

M800 Plug-In ECUs

For a wide range of Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Evo models, M800 Plug-In ECUs are available. They are based on the regular M800, offering the same power and performance, but operating only with saturated drive fuel injectors. M800 Plug-In ECUs eliminate the need to rewire the vehicle because they are fitted with an OEM connector and simply slot into the factory ECU case.

M4 and M48

MoTeC’s earlier generation M4 and M48 models are highly capable systems, well suited to a wide range of applications. The DOS-based tuning software is efficient and easy to use.

Testament to the enduring performance of this earlier generation ECUs, a restricted version of the M48 is currently used as the control ECU in Australia’s premier V8 Supercar categories.

M2R and MLS

Adding to MoTeC's range of custom solutions, two new versions of the M4 ECU were recently released; the MLS, tailored to suit Chevrolet LSI and Lexus V8s, and the M2R, dedicated to twin rotor engines.
