30/Apr/2009 MoTeC plugs into Evo X with new ECU and Diff Controller

MoTeC has just released a new M800 Plug-In ECU for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X RS. It delivers the race-bred tuning performance of MoTeC’s most popular engine management system with the convenience of quick and easy installation.
Like previous MoTeC Plug-Ins, the Evo X ECU has been designed to discreetly replace the factory computer, utilising an OEM connector to plug into the vehicle’s existing wiring loom. This eliminates the time and cost of a regular aftermarket ECU installation which usually requires substantial wiring changes. Unlike earlier versions, the Evo X connector is integrated into the ECU housing so the MoTeC system is supplied as a complete bolt-in unit.
Mitsubishi has engineered this latest Evolution with an electronic throttle (Drive by Wire) and continuously variable camshaft control. Both of these features are fully supported by the M800 Plug-In, allowing tuners to achieve refined performance and optimum power.
To assist with tuning, MoTeC’s Evo X Plug-In ECU comes with a start file plus 8 free hours of Wideband Lambda and Logging. It can be ordered with an optional Onboard Knock Module (OKM) for individual cylinder closed loop knock control, as well as other upgrades including anti-lag, traction and launch control, data logging and telemetry.
A new version of MoTeC’s Mitsubishi Diff Controller has also been released for the Evo X RS. The MDC2 is a compact plug-in unit that replaces the factory centre diff controller, allowing users to customise handling characteristics. By adjusting the torque distribution between front and rear differentials the car’s setup can be tailored to suit various surfaces and individual driving styles.
Both products are available now.
