FSAE Seminars
NEW 3 Day Program
MoTeC has been involved with the Australian FSAE competition since the year 2000. We know that getting the best results without a background in Engine Management or Data Acquisition can be a daunting task so we are again running our popular FSAE seminar in an expanded format.
This training program will be made up of three full days of seminars developed specifically for Formula SAE. Content is based on the most common questions asked and problems faced by FSAE teams.
The seminars are open to Formula SAE students from all universities and are recommended for both the novice and those who have some experience with MoTeC systems.
Day 1: Engine Management
The first day covers the initial setup of engine parameters and software for start up and basic tuning of a MoTeC ECU on an FSAE car. This entry level tutorial is based on our popular 2 day ECU seminar but is tailored specifically to the needs of FSAE competition.
Day 2: Data Analysis
A practical introduction to data analysis with an emphasis on understanding and interpreting data logged from a MoTeC device. Many examples will be presented to teach participants what to look for in data and to encourage problem solving. Students will be challenged to think about real world solutions that can improve the performance of driver and chassis.
Day 3: FSAE FAQs
The final day will look at popular FSAE topics such as Wiring, Traction Control, Gear Change Ignition Cut, PID, CAN, Creating Lap Times and Track Maps. There will also be an open Q&A session if time permits. This is a great opportunity to bring up any particular issues your team would like answered.
General Information
The seminars will be held at the MoTeC Research Centre, Melbourne, Australia. Only students participating in Formula SAE 2011 may attend.
