hi guys
new to understand motec m800 ecu and software
ive downloaded the i2 and basic software but want to learn how to interpret data at the track.

are there any tutorials where it explains this to me and how to download data, read it and understand? Ive also read i need to register the i2 software? I cant seem to find much info on this stuff after a few hours of google/youtube etc

To use i2 with data logged from your device, you do not need to register i2, it is only if you are wanting to use the advanced functions like importing data from different companies hardware that you need to register these options.

hi stephen thanks for the reply
i have tried for hours to download the data from the ecu, which it does but only the last time i started the car, 10 mins worth of data. It doesnt seem to download any other data from racing that has not been wiped.

I also have the sdl3 dash, which when selecting sdl data to download it says it cant find a connection (using both can and ethernet connections).

I followed the instructions on how to extract data and it simply downloads that last running session, nothing else, and the sdl data is non existent.

Any ideas?


EDIT - i found in the sdl instructions a section how to create connection, add serial number etc so ill try that. cheers

Hi Max,

Depending on how your log set and logging conditions are configured, it is possible that the log file will only be 10 minutes long. If you have all 64 available channels being logged at a high rate, then the logging memory will fill in a short period of time and overwrite the old data.

The SDL should have a longer period of logging, but that also depends on what is setup in the SDL to log.
