Richard Bendell Receives PRESTIGIOUS ACCOLADE
Richard Bendell, MoTeC founding director and lifelong motorsport enthusiast was on Friday 10th February, granted a Phil Irving award by The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS). This prestigious award was presented to acknowledge Richard's long standing commitment and outstanding contribution to engineering excellence in motorsport.
Over the years, Richard has achieved remarkable success technically and commercially in the development of 4 valve J.A.P. speedway motorcycle cylinder heads, the design and manufacture of high performance racing engine valves, the design of unique and patented inlet manifolds (which helped the Winfield Holden Team to win Bathurst and subsequently used by many other Group A touring car teams), and the concept and development of practical and successful fuel injection and engine management systems for motorsport applications.
Richard's passion and determination have seen the MoTeC brand grow from humble beginnings to a world leader in engine management technology, with a customer list including Le Mans, NASCAR, FIA GT, Australian V8 Supercars, IndyCar, Dakar Rally, World Rally, Formula Ford and many more. It is an impressive list which pays homage to Richard's continuing efforts.
Richard's long standing commitment and outstanding contribution to engineering excellence in Australian motorsport make him a very worthy recipient of the Phil Irving Award.
